The Team
Ron Harris
Founder and Civil Engineer
Diploma Civil Engineering RMIT
Ron has 50 years experience in the civil engineering industry, starting at the Melbourne Metropolitan Board of works in design. Following this, Ron worked in the private consulting industry for Scott and Furphy Engineers. In 1968 he joined forces with a contractor and started Walsh Bros and Harris. From here they specialised in open cut sewer construction in water bearing ground. In 1994 he transferred the business into rehabilitation adopting the Pipe Bursting Technique, seeing the requirement to renew old sewers. In this time he has led Harris Civil to become the largest owner operators of Pneumatic Pipe bursting equipment in Australia. Ron spends a lot of time refining tools to adapt to all working environments. He even recently designed the first 800mm pipe bursting expander used in Australia for a CWW failed liner replacement.
