History

Founding

In 1968 Walsh Brothers and Harris Pty Ltd was founded in Melbourne by Mick Walsh, Jim Walsh and Ron Harris. The business thrived and grew to specialize in the construction of sewers, water networks, roads and bridges, gas lines, storm water infrastructure and pump stations.

Over The Years

In 1971 Jim Walsh left the business. His place was taken by Mick's son, John Walsh in 1982, at this time the company was renamed Walsh Brothers and Harris Civil Pty Ltd. 

In 1994 the company redirected its focus. It adopted the Pipe Bursting method for pipe rehabilitation. This method is essentially trenchless and is far superior in terms of time, cost and environmental impact.

In 1999 the Walsh's sold their equity and the company became Harris Civil Pty Ltd.

Today

Today Harris Civil is a leading contractor in The Greater Melbourne area, owning and maintaining the largest range of Pipe Bursting equipment in Australia. 

We specialise in upsizing and size for size replacements of Sewer Reticulation, Branch Sewers and Sewer Mains. We are dedicated to maintaining and continually improving our reputation as being reliable, successful and safe in this specialized field.
